New Shores, Same Heart: Why We’re Moving WataNut to Amelia Island
For over 13 years, the daily rhythm of WataNut has been defined by the hum of our ovens in Augusta and the incredible community that embraced us from day one. We’ve grown from a local passion project into a national gifting brand, but our heart has always been rooted in the southern hospitality of Georgia.
Today, we are sharing some big news about where those ovens are headed next.
We’re Bringing WataNut Home
As many of you know, our family has called Amelia Island, Florida, home for some time now. To bring our work and our lives into better balance, we have made the decision to relocate the WataNut bakery and headquarters to historic Fernandina Beach.
Our new facility at 302 S. 8th Street will serve as the "engine" for our national shipping operations, allowing us to scale our production while staying true to the small-batch, artisanal quality you’ve come to expect from us.
To Our Augusta Family: We aren’t going anywhere.
We know that for many of you, WataNut is a holiday staple and a go-to for local gifting. We want to be very clear: This isn't a goodbye. While our physical storefront in Augusta is closing, we are committed to staying part of the fabric of this city.
-
Shop Local: You can continue to find your favorite WataNut tins and treats at our premier Augusta area retail partners, including Augusta Gift Baskets, Swank, Augusta & Co., The Maker & Merchant, The Meadows, and Pecan Row.
-
The Holiday Tradition Lives On: We are already planning an Augusta Holiday Pop-Up Shop for Christmas 2026. We’ll be back every year to celebrate the season with you!
-
Always Online: Of course, watanut.com remains open 24/7, shipping your favorites directly to your door.
Hello, Amelia Island!
To our neighbors in Fernandina Beach, we are thrilled to become a full-time part of the 8th Street business corridor. Beyond our bakery and shipping headquarters, we are also expanding our presence downtown.
Be sure to visit our store at 118 Centre Street, where you can get a little nutty. We’re especially excited about our handmade ice cream sandwiches, featuring an ever-evolving menu of new cookie flavors baked right here on the island.
Thank You for Helping Us Inspire Kindness & Spread Joy
Thirteen years ago, we couldn't have imagined the journey WataNut would take us on. Whether you’ve been with us since the first batch in Augusta or you’re just discovering us on the coast or beyond, thank you for being part of our story.
We can’t wait to show you what’s baking next.
With gratitude,
Brian & Kam Kyzer
